Those once-in-a-lifetime photo opps, like engagements, bridal portraits, and weddings tend to get a lot of love around here (obvs), but you know what also calls for celebration? Those other milestones, that maybe just you and your other half recognize, that no one’s really there for. Why not capture more of them, huh? When Shelby of Shea Brianne sent this styled sesh our way, she got us thinking of all the sweet ways one could take all the pretty events we post about and use them to make other life moments more memorable, like this couple’s 6-month anniversary.

Shelby says, An especially sweet detail of the shoot is the invitation suite. The cards were designed to be love letters from a husband to his bride on their anniversary. Reading these letters, such as a note reminding his love of how he proposed to her on a hot air balloon 150 feet in the air, his new wife is invited to meet him for a special date that involves flowers, fall leaves, and taking polaroid snapshots.

The color palette was passion-inspired, filled with shades of maroon, red, pinks, muted oranges, and hints of green. The addition of some kraft paper completes the warm, understated—and yet bold—look.
