How about a little nod to France on this Bastille Day? For S + S, the proposal became the inspiration behind the big day (props to the groom on that one!). Shiv proposed on a beautiful mountainside in the South of France, so a French-inspired wedding surrounded by lush gardens and midnight blues to channel that memorable evening seemed quite fitting. With friends + fam in the Bay Area, what better locale to choose than Beaulieu Garden in Napa Valley?

Sara’s engagement ring was handmade from a 1860s family diamond. The bands were handmade, too.
Ah, to be a June bride.
For the NY brides, on finding her stunning Jenny Packham “Azalea” gown: Having shopped elsewhere for wedding gowns myself, and having now accompanied many New York friends to other boutiques and designer showrooms to look for their wedding gowns, I can say that Mark Ingram is really the best place!
What a spread!
Congrats Sara + Shiv!

Good morning, Cakies! The extra dose of pink in these pics by Jessica Burke will brighten up your Monday for sure. Rebekah of A & B Creative had the honor of throwing a bridal shower for a longtime BFF that had thrown hers 7 years ago. A few talented creatives + lots of girly details later, they had such a lovely, intimate shower for Catherine.
Rebekah says, Catherine and Brian are big G.O.T fans and I thought it was so adorable when she mentioned to me once that each time someone says “I am yours, and you are mine” on the show that her and Brian squeeze each other’s hands. I knew that was an element I wanted to add somewhere. I contacted Kim Roth of Bright Room Studio and we decided that using that quote above the fireplace would have the biggest impact, and I love what she created there (so much so that I haven’t washed it off my wall yet!) and throughout the shower.
The invites inspired the party colors, including all the cheery flowers.
Cheers to Catherine!

If you’re heading out for supplies to make our last two DIYs, you might wanna save yourself the second trip and add crepe paper + mason jars now, ‘cause this is a good one.
Awhile aback, DIY pro Valerie Lloyd of Smile Mercantile showed us how to make these DIY paper roses, a project that has since been the inspiration behind many a beautiful bouquet. We’re super happy to say Valerie has a new project to share—these pretty little luminaries—that she designed for a fancy Monet-inspired dinner party. There’s room for one more DIY in the wedding timeline, yes?

Thanks Valerie, can’t wait to see who tries it first!
