This sweet lady, Paige Lowe, is no stranger to the blog. She’s one superb photographer that we’ve had the pleasure of featuring here on the blog. Remember her insanely beautiful Iceland engagement photos? Well, she recently got hitched, had her 15 year old intern, Jenny Markham capture the entire day (beautifully, we might add), hit the jackpot with an ombre Martha Webb dress, and was the first couple to get married at this new Malibu treasure venue, Casa Encantada.

I fell in LOVE with this dress year and years ago, but had only seen it on a tumblr. I scoured the web looking for it and finally found Martha Webb, a wonderful artist based out of London. I begged her to let me borrow the gown for my big day and she sent it over right away!

My husband and I wanted to get married at a home, but we needed one large enough so we set out and searched high and wide on Airbnb, pleading with homeowners to let us use their rental as a venue for our big day! Luckily we came across this lovely Malibu treasure, and the owners wanted to start hosting weddings there anyway! It was very special to be the first wedding on the property, and the grounds could not have been more beautiful. With a new venue comes a lot of work though, we to do everything from stringing out own lights to bringing in lots of vendors, but all of the effort was well worth it, and the owners were a pleasure to work with!

I put together every single flower arrangement the day before and morning of the wedding, I swear I’m not crazy, I just adore flowers and the process was very theraputic for me!

Casa de Perrin’s Navajo collection is out of this world and made our dining table even more beautiful than I could have ever imagined.

And YEAH! rentals’ funky furniture and all of our colorful mexican blankets really brought a lot of fun to our dance area.

We had a long wait from arrival time until dinner, so we snipped some little snack bags and stamped each one with our cute little arrow.

We really just wanted the day to feel like “Us”. When choosing a venue we decided that we needed to be near the beach, and we had to be outdoors. Once we found the Malibu home, everything started to fall into place. Starting with our invitations designed by the insanely talented Rachel Bernard of Figgy Bakery. They really set the pace for the kind of vibe we were going for. They were fun, playful and very informal. We also brought a ton of our own personal items to make the venue feel like home; photographs, vases, hankies, plates, and even furniture. Having a camping area was also very important to us, a lot of our friends are big campers and we wanted people to be able to crash if they had had one too many! Choosing which vendors to invest in was also a huge part of our day.

We’re so stoked to have Mrs. Kelli Murray back with us today. We swear, one day we’re going to share enough of her pretty DIY’s to style an entire wedding (not a bad idea…)! Today though, is all about the wedding guest and showing them to their table with these fab terrarium escort cards, that can also double as wedding favors. They’re easy to make, everyone will love them, and we bet you’ll get addicted and make a few extras for your home. Here’s what cha need…

Supplies:
- Corked round glass bottle
- moss
- fake flowers
- black cardstock
- cotton string
- white pigment ink pen

If you are making a lot of these, round up all your supplies and make a little assembly line. Invites your friends (or your mom!) to help you put them together. Because really, the assembly will be the hardest part.

Step 1: Uncork your glass jar.  Fill it with moss about half way up and add a single faux flower.

Step 2:  Print this banner template (insert PDF hyperlink) to create your customized banners.  Cut them out and punch a small hole at the center top where your string will go.

Step 3:  If your banners are black, as mine are, use a white pigment ink pen to write the names of your guests.  Let the ink dry.

Step 4: Wrap these name banners around your assembled terrariums with cotton string….and voilà!

You can totally customize these to your event too. Play around with different flowers, colors… you know, just have fun with it!

The June gloom we’ve been experiencing here in LA reminds us of pretty places like Seattle that get to enjoy the grays and blues on a regular basis. To capture all of that and show us what it would be like to have a wedding in the city’s surroundings, Lauren Ledbetter collaborated with Brad & Jen Butcher of Q Avenue Photo to create an “ode to Seattle” wedding. From Lauren… Extending over Elliott Bay from Pier 67, the Edgewater Hotel is a landmark hotel, a staple of Seattle history and is less than a mile from the Pike Place Market. For me, this shoot felt like home. Having grown up in Seattle, I wanted the grays and blues to be an underlining theme and direct reflection of the surrounding elements. Using flowers and cooking up the catch of the day from Pike Place Market, everything about this shoot is truly a direct representation of the Seattle ocean front.

When Michelle + Thomas first contacted Lovely Jubilee a few months before their wedding, they emphasized they wanted to have a big party with delicious food (ahem, Heirloom LA), great drinks (ahem, Pharmacie), and a “New Years Eve-esque” feel to it. After sitting down with them and going over their loves and likes and hearing that Michelle had a deep crush on the Marvimon, it was set. These two were going to have a phenomenal wedding! The insane team that was put together for this wedding, including the amazing photography of Braedon Flynn executed this blush, navy and gold celebration down to the T. These Valentino black crystal bow d’Orsay pumps are insanely gorge!

The wedding weekend started off on Friday with an intimate tea ceremony at the brides house followed by a metro ride down to Grand Park LA. In an intimate ceremony, they exchanged vows amidst the see of hot pink chairs and loved ones.

Little DIY sequin hearts that the bride made for all of the guests (and vendors!) glistened in the sunlight as streamers flew in the air as the two said “I do!”.

Streamer filled balls to throw at the happy couple after their ceremony – too cute!

What’s the best way to utilize high ceilings? Suspended Geronimo balloons! Amazing.
