One of the most memorable and appealing aspects of planning your wedding is finding the dress. Once you’ve found it, tried it on a dozen times and zip it up to hang outside of your closet, you can let out an enormous sigh of relief. If that time hasn’t come for you, here’s a bit of pretty fashion inspiration for ya from the talented, Miss Tashina. It’s always a pleasure to see her work in weddings and it makes us all the more smitten with these ivory, gold, and blush boho glamour pieces.

Our favorite part of this dress is the short “bubble” skirt with floor-length sheer skirt and detachable ruffled waistband. Let’s not forget about that blue fascinator too! Perfect accessory and pop of color.

Now here’s an accessory we’d love to see be on trend for 2012 weddings (especially with Spring being so close)! It’s easy to remember to have fresh flowers as part of your centerpieces and in your bouquet – but what about in your hair? And we’re not just talking about one flower accenting a ballerina bun or placed in your swept-to-the-side tail. We’re talking about an entire crown of fresh flowers designed by Philadelphia Magazine’s 2011, ‘Best Florist’, Sullivan Owen. These are without a doubt the perfect custom made fashion accessory!

Photographer, Jillian McGrath sums up the shoot beautifully: Sullivan Owen creates more than just floral arrangements, she creates individual pieces of art with the flowers being her canvas and brush. When we were approached by Sullivan to produce images of the looks she could provide brides in the upcoming year we knew that it was going to be a beautiful collaboration. With help from the talented April Chatman-Royce on makeup, Brianna Adams on hair and the beautiful Meghan Christmas as our model, the shoot and each look came to life giving each floral hair piece a story of its own. The set up was simple and beautiful using mostly natural light to capture the true beauty that each flower has to offer, as well as casting romantic soft shadows to add depth and feeling. This was a true collaboration and the contribution of each artist part really made this shoot a true success.

Sullivan Owen on her one-of-a-kind creations: Making fresh floral crowns and fascinators has always been something that I’ve enjoyed and I set up this shoot to collaborate with a few of my favorite artists to showcase the idea of flowers as a true fashion accessory. I was inspired by traditional millinery shapes and I spent a lot of time developing the foundations to create each piece on so that all you would see is the beautiful flowers. Each piece speaks to a different style of bride and wedding and I hope more brides will consider fresh floral pieces as an accessory.

Don’t mind us, but we want to wear all of these, daily!

We bring you to the second half of Amanda + Nick’s breathtakingly flawless wedding! Part one gave us a close look at Amanda’s stunning Monique Lhuillier tulle and beaded gown and dazzling accessories. Now we move to the details (if you could only hear the excitement in our voice), where crystal chandeliers and tulle join together to set the perfect ceremony backdrop, sequin and ruffle table linens exist, and dahlias sit pretty in orange, pink, and peach ombre tones.

I loved the idea of a head table but with 10 bridesmaids and 10 groomsmen plus their dates I knew the table was going to become a huge eye sore so we decided to create a giant paper flower backdrop to hang behind the table. With hours of work and crafting parties we created the 10 ft by 10 ft backdrop using the Pom tutorial from Martha Stewart Weddings online. We used multiple shapes and sizes to create dimension as well as added in some silk flowers for more texture. It came out so amazing and turned into the perfect wedding centerpiece.

I wanted the main décor to be vibrant flowers scattered all over the barn so I searched high and low for the perfect vendor. I was lucky enough to come across an award winning Dahlia farm in Northern California early on in the process and they were able to actually plant flowers for my wedding to be ready just in time for the big day. I have to say the flowers were the most amazing things I have ever seen. They absolutely made the wedding and were incredibly affordable. I ordered the remaining flowers from a wholesaler and my bridesmaid and some friends all came together the day before the wedding to create all of our bouquets and centerpieces. It was so much fun and everything turned out amazingly.

Table linens to die for! The head table was covered in an ivory sequin linen (yeah, we said sequin linen!). Paired with the pom wall, the chandeliers and feather-beaded “Bride” and “Groom” signs – best head table ever!

Why haven’t we seen more table linens like this before? That’s it – no cocktail table should be without ruffles!

Have we mentioned how much we LOVE this wedding? Wardrobe change number two takes Amanda from a stunning Monique Lhuillier to a fun and flirty Ivy & Aster dress.

Amanda’s attention to detail and passion for creating a glamorous handmade wedding will forever inspire event designers and brides (and us!). The warmest congratulations to Amanda + Nick!

By the time you realize that you’ve swooned over this wedding for the 15th time, you’ll peek to see if anyone is looking at your monitor and look at it all over again. Oh yes, Amanda + Nick’s wedding is that AMAZING! The vibrant dahlias, sequin linens (coming in Part 2), Amanda’s two wardrobe changes (psss.. a Monique Lhuillier tulle gown & Ivy & Aster ruffled party dress). We. Are. Dying. Extraordinary bride, Amanda aka a crafting and be-dazzling goddess is also the designer and founder of Untamed Petals! To avoid withdrawals from all the pretty you’re about to see, start pinning, now!

If we had the embellishing skills that Amanda has, we’d add rhinestones to a pair of Badgley Mischka’s too!

Amanda dishes on her oh-so-dreamy wedding dress & sparkly accessories:

When I tried on “Meriah” by Monique Lhuillier for the first time I was instantly in love. From the beading on the bodice to the shredded tulle skirt, it was the perfect mix of ethereal glamour that I was looking for. The first thing Nick said to me during our first look was, “This dress was made for you” – something every bride dreams of hearing from their groom. Of course next, for me, were the accessories. I designed two different hair fascinators for myself along with my veil for the ceremony. Complimenting an already beaded dress was difficult but I was able to find rhinestone and fabric that matched my bodice and worked from there. The pieces turned out so lovely that I decided to include them in my 2012 collection. I also accessorized with a gorgeous Chanel cuff and vintage earrings that I found at Portobello Market in London.

For the bridesmaids, I knew I wanted them all to coordinate but not be matching exactly so I had all of their dresses custom-made with fabric I had sourced out in New York so they would be the perfect complimenting shades of blush and peach tones. To complete their look I made some custom sashes, cuffs and headpieces for them to choose from the morning of the wedding. It was the perfect something extra that tied the whole look together.

Having lost my mom a few months before we got engaged, it was really important for me to have small personal mementos throughout the décor so I could feel her presence and remember her throughout the day. My favorite memento was a beautiful bouquet charm my sister made me with my mother’s photo and beautiful quote, “Mom is with you every step of the way”. I can still remember looking down at it right before walking down the aisle and knowing she was watching over me.

Saying good-bye to her wedding day wasn’t sad, instead Amanda woke up the next morning feeling utterly in love and completely satisfied. Dream wedding accomplished! Part 2 will only continue to blow your mind as you peek into their reception. The hand-crafted details will instantly inspire you! See you in a bit!
