fuchsia, white and dusty miller bouquet

Geronimo balloons, metallic gourds, pheasant feathers and fondant hearts were all at home amidst Alissa + Mark’s elegant and memorable affair at the Weisman Art Museum. It houses a great collection of modern art, overlooks the Mississippi River bank and was the perfect wedding venue that represented unique aspects of who these two lovebirds are. And if the architecture of their venue isn’t pretty enough, check out Alissa’s wedding dress!

bohemian wedding style

Weddings like Liz + Josh’s make us smile. They’re so bright & cheery, filled with pretty DIY details and it’s so easy to see how their wedding was truly a labor of love. From the garlands to the gold glitter disco ball, the tabletop centerpieces to the corn hold game and signage. It was the perfect bohemian, outdoor, relaxed and intimate celebration they were going for. And what better place to gather than their close friend’s home. Both the ceremony and reception took place in the backyard, under the stars and harvest moon.

My dress was such a heartfelt venture custom made by Miss Tashina. I was able to use bits and pieces from both my grandmother’s and my mom’s wedding dresses. Being as though neither my Grandmother nor my Dad are with us any longer.. It meant the world to me to know they were there with me in spirit.

Lake Michigan and pink balloons

There are two awesome reasons for having a brunch wedding: bloody marys & donuts. Right? Maybe that’s why Sarah + Jake decided on a brunch wedding. Or maybe it had something to do with the three months they had to plan. Either way these two had fun with their celebration, adding pretty pink details wherever possible. And Abbey Moore definitely had a sweet time capturing their lively personalities and all the details Sarah designed herself, from the ombre escort cards to jars of herbs on the table.

anunculus, succulent, peonies, roses, and dusty miller bouquet

You can never go wrong with an art museum as your wedding venue. You’re surrounded by gorgeous works of art and history and the outdoor courtyards are perfect for a reception. Nisse + Matt got married at The Art Institute of Chicago a year after getting engaged, trying to plan a move from Chicago to Boston, graduate medical school, and start new jobs. Whew! But they did it. And they did it beautifully with the help of photographer, Olivia Leigh. The colors, florals, their ceremony, DIY watercolor escort cards, glittery touches, and desserts… gorgeous!

Nicole + Manny’s wedding could have possibly taken place where they got engaged, somewhere in the southern United States. They loved its charm, history and beauty, but their search quickly expanded to the Caribbean, then to Portugal. Don’t you just love how that can happen? This was his family from Portugal and hers from Romania were able to make it. Their wedding venue was obviously a beaut – Colunata Eventos, a picturesque garden on a mountain overlooking the city of Braga. And they didn’t let the venue do all the talking, oh no. The decor, florals, fashion, photography by Branco Prata… it was all just as romantic as could be.
