Pop open the pink bubbly ladies! Your mission for today or tomorrow, is to recreate The Campari Kiss, a sweet bubbly cocktail invented by Candace Kalasky’s (of Lovestru.ck Events) husband – a recreational homebrewer and mixologist. When you’re ready for dessert, Candace’s super yum Chocolate Covered Strawberry Trifle is easy and will so perfectly, hit the spot. It combines classic Valentine’s Day flavors in a cute mini trifle cup. Our favorite part of this shoot has got to be the recipes presented in fun animated gifs! Let the inspiration begin!

From Candace: I wanted to use soft pinks and muted reds to create a simple and romantic table setting for two. I was inspired by the beautiful packaging for Mast Brothers Chocolates. The dark chocolate bar’s wrapper perfectly matched my color scheme, and I love how its pattern contrasts with the floral napkins.

Hello Carolyna Pro Black! Where have you been all our lives???!! We got a bunch of emails about the super cute font we used in our Valentine’s Day giveaway last week, and we agree… it is one of the best we’ve seen. SO, we thought we’d share the love with all of you who adore the look of calligraphy but can’t quite fit it into your event budget.

We’ve been loving on this little gem since it debuted in December, and for $89 you really can’t beat it. You could totally use it on all of your paper goods, or if you’re like us, you just like to collect pretty fonts and store them away for future use. Also a totally valid reason to buy this one!

It’s available on MyFonts.com when you’re ready.

Some of us love to dream of living in a glamorous gold-trimmed mansion fit for royalty, Monet paintings adorning the walls, antique lace gowns hanging delicately along an open dressing room. For those dreamers, we present you with this fantastical collaboration between A-listers, Corbin Gurkin and Ceci New York. It doesn’t get any more romantic than hand died napkins, a nude & gray palette, antique gold and pink jewelry, and a dinner table set in a secret garden. If after these ethereal photos you still want more, make sure to pick up a copy of the latest issue of Pacific Weddings magazine.

From Corbin… I’ve always found such inspiration in the work of impressionist paintings – the soft gestures, subtle palette, and ethereal nature completely encapsulate the look I love to create in my own wedding photography. There’s no better season than springtime in Paris and when conceptualizing this inspiration shoot I wanted to bring together a group of artisans who could translate a vision of the impressionist inspired garden party. I collaborated with Ceci New York who so beautifully captured the nude & grey palette I had in mind with touches of ombre throughout.

Ashley Brooke Perryman, our remarkable makeup and hair stylist, used soft pink tones to create a romantic look for our model and we loved the natural braided hair that so many brides are drawn to right now – it was the ideal effortless look for our bride.  Delphine’s gowns were paired with custom jewelry from Kristin Morris in antique golds and pink.

The typeface was reminiscent of the belle-epoque iron works and café signage. I’m particularly drawn to texture, and Ceci used a canvas envelope to bring in a painterly quality to the invitation set. The result was complete perfection.

Nancy and Anne of Fete in France found the perfect spot for our tablescape – the Commanderie in Montmartre. They hand died our ombre napkins, used antique containers for the florals, and sourced an iron table that created the garden party aesthetic. We paired our table design with stunning gowns from Delphine Manivet, whose delicate lace and soft white material reminds me of antique French tea dresses, completely apropos for our styling and design concept.

The talented bakers at Sugarplum Cake Shop completed the design with a hand painted blue and nude toned cake that featured subtle brushstrokes and watercolor details.

What’s not to love about this shoot! Thanks so much for sharing ladies!

If you’ve been called a typography snob and detail freak, you already have something in common with Amanda Thomas, founder of Alee and Press. She’s a true creative at heart that truly understands how the arm of a “t”, the shoulder of a “m”, or the bowl of a “d” will impact the design of your completely customizable wedding invitation, save the date, and stationery. There are a lot of new goodies that have just been added to their 2012 wedding collection. Take a look! They’re perfect examples of letterpress stationery at its best! OH! and p.s..she’s offering her amazing invitation services in our Pop-up Shop on January 31st!

Why Alee and Press get brownie points:

We print with soy based inks, use 100% cotton paper (tree-free), we reuse packaging from our suppliers, clean up the presses with less-toxic solvents, we donate 1% of our sales to help save the planet, shred our own packaging material from misprints + scraps, we love the environment!
