We bring you to the second half of Amanda + Nick’s breathtakingly flawless wedding! Part one gave us a close look at Amanda’s stunning Monique Lhuillier tulle and beaded gown and dazzling accessories. Now we move to the details (if you could only hear the excitement in our voice), where crystal chandeliers and tulle join together to set the perfect ceremony backdrop, sequin and ruffle table linens exist, and dahlias sit pretty in orange, pink, and peach ombre tones.

I loved the idea of a head table but with 10 bridesmaids and 10 groomsmen plus their dates I knew the table was going to become a huge eye sore so we decided to create a giant paper flower backdrop to hang behind the table. With hours of work and crafting parties we created the 10 ft by 10 ft backdrop using the Pom tutorial from Martha Stewart Weddings online. We used multiple shapes and sizes to create dimension as well as added in some silk flowers for more texture. It came out so amazing and turned into the perfect wedding centerpiece.

I wanted the main décor to be vibrant flowers scattered all over the barn so I searched high and low for the perfect vendor. I was lucky enough to come across an award winning Dahlia farm in Northern California early on in the process and they were able to actually plant flowers for my wedding to be ready just in time for the big day. I have to say the flowers were the most amazing things I have ever seen. They absolutely made the wedding and were incredibly affordable. I ordered the remaining flowers from a wholesaler and my bridesmaid and some friends all came together the day before the wedding to create all of our bouquets and centerpieces. It was so much fun and everything turned out amazingly.

Table linens to die for! The head table was covered in an ivory sequin linen (yeah, we said sequin linen!). Paired with the pom wall, the chandeliers and feather-beaded “Bride” and “Groom” signs – best head table ever!

Why haven’t we seen more table linens like this before? That’s it – no cocktail table should be without ruffles!

Have we mentioned how much we LOVE this wedding? Wardrobe change number two takes Amanda from a stunning Monique Lhuillier to a fun and flirty Ivy & Aster dress.

Amanda’s attention to detail and passion for creating a glamorous handmade wedding will forever inspire event designers and brides (and us!). The warmest congratulations to Amanda + Nick!

If we had the embellishing skills that Amanda has, we’d add rhinestones to a pair of Badgley Mischka’s too!

Amanda dishes on her oh-so-dreamy wedding dress & sparkly accessories:

When I tried on “Meriah” by Monique Lhuillier for the first time I was instantly in love. From the beading on the bodice to the shredded tulle skirt, it was the perfect mix of ethereal glamour that I was looking for. The first thing Nick said to me during our first look was, “This dress was made for you” – something every bride dreams of hearing from their groom. Of course next, for me, were the accessories. I designed two different hair fascinators for myself along with my veil for the ceremony. Complimenting an already beaded dress was difficult but I was able to find rhinestone and fabric that matched my bodice and worked from there. The pieces turned out so lovely that I decided to include them in my 2012 collection. I also accessorized with a gorgeous Chanel cuff and vintage earrings that I found at Portobello Market in London.

For the bridesmaids, I knew I wanted them all to coordinate but not be matching exactly so I had all of their dresses custom-made with fabric I had sourced out in New York so they would be the perfect complimenting shades of blush and peach tones. To complete their look I made some custom sashes, cuffs and headpieces for them to choose from the morning of the wedding. It was the perfect something extra that tied the whole look together.

Having lost my mom a few months before we got engaged, it was really important for me to have small personal mementos throughout the décor so I could feel her presence and remember her throughout the day. My favorite memento was a beautiful bouquet charm my sister made me with my mother’s photo and beautiful quote, “Mom is with you every step of the way”. I can still remember looking down at it right before walking down the aisle and knowing she was watching over me.

Saying good-bye to her wedding day wasn’t sad, instead Amanda woke up the next morning feeling utterly in love and completely satisfied. Dream wedding accomplished! Part 2 will only continue to blow your mind as you peek into their reception. The hand-crafted details will instantly inspire you! See you in a bit!

The pointy black frame glasses and bold stripe shirt la Matt Damon in The Talented Mr. Ripley exudes this cool dude’s classic side, with a slight edge of rebellion bubbling underneath. As for our lady, she’s wearing vintage head to toe in vintage earrings, a pale salmon kickpleat skirt, matched with a simple, yet elegant white lace camisole.

At the end of the evening, guests were each given a wish lantern, personalized in calligraphy by Ahavah Design. The couple led the guests down to a magical spot in the river for them to release their greatest wish onto the Universe by setting it free into the water. A perfect way to cap a perfect day!

Has it been chilly where you live? Here in LA, Winter isn’t quite ready to leave, so we thought this inspiration shoot would be fitting. Plus, we know there are a lot of you that are newly engaged and setting dates for the later part of the year. Hence the pretty pine cones, shades of grey and silver, and snowfall in Revel & Bloom‘s romantic Victorian styled shoot. What we’re loving most about this shoot – it feels modern while keeping classic touches – and it’s approachable, proving that a can of spray paint and a bit of a crafty hand can give your wedding a timeless look.

One of the running themes throughout the decor and design: the idea of a childhood crush that turned into true love and eventually marriage.

Each of the candle sticks were found at vintage shops and painted to match the color scheme.

For the reception table, we found a beautiful grey lace runner and incorporated a Victorian cameo into the centerpiece. We built the planter box and painted it grey. We loved using navy velvet to create a luxurious, romantic feel to the table. We found a lace overlay that we cut to make lace napkins and used beautiful, vintage plates and chargers, chairs and silverware. We spray painted pine cones in various tones, from light glitter to grey to invoke the wintery landscape that was just outside the doors of the lodge.

About 30 miles south of Cape Cod, Massachusetts is Nantucket –  an island New Yorkers escape to during Summer, and a great location for an outdoor wedding beneath a lighthouse overlooking the ocean. The collaboration of Desiree Spinner Events‘ styling talent paired with Trent Bailey‘s naturally beautiful photography make for a stunning shoot that will leave you swooning over a coral and white wedding on the island. The shoot was recently featured in Southern Weddings but, as you can see, we couldn’t resist from sharing all the pretty details that didn’t make it into the mag!

mirror seating chart

We see a lot of seating charts on chalk boards and old window frames, but on a mirror? Love it! By far the best way to reflect an already gorgeous view.

We are so happy to see chiavari chairs that aren’t just gold or silver! The pop of the red against the white dining table and blue Nantucket sky is breathtaking! The beer bar was a DIY element; labels were peeled off and replaced with flavored beers names that either had Southern or New England ties. For example, a peachy wheat beer was renamed “Georgia Peach” and blueberry beer was changed to “Maine Blueberry”.

strawberries as wedding decor

Floral accents were mixed with the stationery and vintage china to bring in Southern charm.  The flowers are a mixture of whites to reflect the South and New England elements.  As a final touch white vintage laced napkins were used, which felt very traditional to both areas, as well as strawberries.

pie table for wedding

A pie dessert table and homemade barbecue sauce jars as favors would be the perfect touch if you’re planning an outdoor wedding during Summer.
