Party throwers, DIY brides-to-be, and florist enthusiasts alike – you’re in for a pretty treat. For those of you who may be unfamiliar with Amy Osaba event.floral.design, they are a full event design company with an aesthetic that is organic, free, with a twist on the traditional. They recently celebrated their new studio space (the Goat Farm in Atlanta) by opening it up for the 1st in a series of floral workshops. Plenty of cupcakes, gourmet sack lunches, savory cocktails, and one adorable complimentary goody apron later, Indian Summer was a beautiful success. We’ll let the floral creations tell the rest!

Drawing inspiration from fiery sunsets and warm evenings ‘round the campfire, this inaugural workshop gave students the opportunity to create a lush tablescape, styled with found objects and locally foraged botanicals.  At this workshop, students not only learned the basics of floral design, such as flower identification and composition, but they also learned how to implement some of our signature touches, from creating charming vignettes using vintage vessels, to incorporating local foliage into arrangements and creating a centerpiece with movement and balance.

“It was an Indian summer, a bluebird sort of day…warm and sunny, without a breath of wind; the water was sky-blue, the shores a bank of solid gold.”

So much pretty & fun – and, this was just the first of many workshops to come! We’ll eagerly be awaiting the announcement of the next one (in hopes of snagging a seat). Until then, a big thank you to all the talented vendors involved!

This week, being that today is the first day of November, we’re kicking off a little holiday-ish business in the Pop-Up Shop.

Too early? NO WAY! It’s so satisfying to start planning your wrapping strategies and decor style ahead of time. And even if you don’t care a lick about getting ready for various December festivities, Olive Manna’s sale in the Pop-Up Shop has plenty of good things to inspire your upcoming wedding or event.

We’re so super excited to be stocking up ourselves. And if you can’t decide what to order this instant, snag one of the available vouchers (in $50, $100, and $250 values) and go on a shopping spree next week when you’ve had time to plan.

Just to get you all extra excited about what’s possible with a basket full of Olive Manna supplies, Jillian put together a few cute holiday ideas for a bit of inspiration. Want to see? They’re so super cute!

A merry garland idea.

A dressed up kraft paper wrapping project.

Super cute party gift styling or even better, an escort card/favor line up! (inspired by an idea in the the November Martha)

Doesn’t this get you excited about holiday crafting?! We also found a link to this cute Bon Voyage party using some of Olive Manna’s supplies. They’re so versatile!

Go here to start shopping.

Doesn’t this seersucker dress remind you of the one we featured earlier this week from this wedding? Very refreshing to see striped or polka dot wedding dresses options.

We can all agree that there’s something magical about the Summer Solstice, a time of the year when the days are longest and the sun is the brightest. These are the days to call up your friends, throw a bbq in a park, at the beach, on a rooftop, sip drinks and hang. Hence the Sip and See (a southern term used for get togethers). It can also be the perfect time to throw the longest wedding celebration ever! Leave it to Jessica Roberts and Halligan Smith aka the ladies who like to party aka Hey Day, to serve up the best inspiration for said event. We know it’s technically not Summer anymore, but the sun still comes out, so that’s reason enough to party!

These pretty invites were designed by Hey Day and printed by Adam Smith, a screen print artist in Philadelphia. After printing, Hey Day hand cut and assembled them using some nifty white gromets.

The whole event was a DIY project. We handmade almost everything ourselves. From the dying of the napkins, to the construction of the tables, to the head wreath’s. The take home favors were paper fortune tellers. For those, we took the image used on the top fortune tellers and designed the graphics together. We’d have to say that the most satisfactory project of the evening definitely had to be watching the girls participating in the weaving of the maypole, constructed by wood worker Bradford Smith. It felt so intimate, the sun was setting beautifully, and it was so much fun!

Thanks for sharing Jessica & Halligan!
