Y’all have already heard the news, yes? This year’s Pantone color of the year is Emerald. We couldn’t be more excited. Emerald exudes glamour, is such a statement color, and makes for one inspiring colorboard, obvs. These are a few shades of the spectrum we’re loving as of now. Yep, we added gold to the mix too. Had to. Emerald and gold are pretty much a match made in colorboard heaven.

If you’re in love with the color just as much as we are and want to know how you can incorporate it into our wedding, we say do it with your bridesmaids! Can you imagine how money they would look standing by your side in these dresses? Stun-ning! Please tell us you’ll consider it. We’d love to see a wedding with some emerald bridesmaid dresses this year!

southern charm bridesmaid luncheon

Ok, so remember last week when we shared a bohemian styled shoot that was inspired by The Princess Bride? Coordinator, Ashton Events and photographer, Jordan Weiland were also inspired by a film when they came up with the concept for this 1960s shoot. Without us telling you, can you guess what it was? We’ll let Jordan dish the deets.

I was talking with a friend about how fun a styled shoot would be inspired by the movie, The Help and my wheels just kept turning. I met with Laura Helm, the coordinator for this shoot, and she took the idea and ran with it. She also thought it would be fun to do it as a bridal luncheon instead of a reception inspiration just for something different for the summer. Plus the look correlates really well with the bridge lunches and pool deck scene in the movie. All of our vendors did an AMAZING job of making this shoot even better than what I could have hoped for. It was a really fun collaboration.

Such a great idea to use vintage playing cards as escort cards.

With the same gold marker they used to write on the escort cards, they personalized each placemat.

No luncheon with your bridesmaids is complete without a fancy bar cart.

Classy Camilyn Beth dresses. Can’t decide if we like this one better in white or blue. The blue with those sunshine daisy earrings is adorable. Definitely bridesmaid material. The white, perfect for a chic bride going for a little vintage look. Love ‘em!

As an event coordinator & stylist, Sarah Tucker has seen her share of brides experience the drawbacks of choosing the perfect bridesmaid dress. You want something your party will feel great in and might actually wear again, yes? After having a great experience as a bridesmaid herself, wearing the dress long after the wedding it was meant for, and hearing the question, “Where did you get that dress?”, Sarah decided to team up with Jessica Lorren Organic Photography and Camilyn Beth (the designer who made the custom dress for Sarah) to create the concept of this shoot.

When coming up with the concept I kept thinking of my favorite moments as a bridesmaid. I adored the moments before the wedding. Such a precious, sacred, and often giddy time. I envisioned girlfriends getting ready, feeling comfortable and amazing in their Camilyn Beth dresses, sipping delicious drinks (ahem, lavender lemonade infused with vodka), and enjoying each others company.

They all leave you with a few tips on curating seamless looks for your girls:

* Choose your color palette. This doesn’t have to be the colors of your wedding per se. It can be colors you find in your venue, your favorite colors, or just colors that complement one another.

* Give your maids some guidelines. If you don’t want them to wear something that’s floor length or one shoulder, let them know. They can’t read your mind.

* Show them examples of what you like. A fun way to do this is to create a Pinterest board. This way you can add images that express the vibe you’re going for!

Now have some fun with it! Call up your party and plan a girls day to gab about dresses!

Can we all agree that black & white will never go out of style? Polka dots, stripes, chevron… it works every time. Paired with neon it’s spunky, next to bright florals it’s fun, on a pair of peep toe heels it’s sexy, standing to the right and left of you in your wedding dress it’s modern and chic. We’re thinking it could be a great look for all you summertime brides. Not convinced? Check out some fun ways to mix in a little b & w dress for your bridesmaids! We’re kind of obsessed. Once we started looking for one dress, we found all of these cuties:
