The ladies at Benefit made our events so much fun. They truly love what they do and they’re really excellent make-up artists! Plus Benefit products are top notch, beautifully packaged and always make you look gorgeous.

Little Miss Party did a bang up job with the treats and flowers for the NYC event. Those cake pops are by Kreated by Kristan. So super cute!

And is any party really complete without a Geronimo Balloon Trooper?!! NO. Which is why Jihan sent a few over for our events. She’s such a doll, really. And her balloons were perfect for a girlie party.

In LA, Früute provided a wildly delicious display of bite size tarts. Weren’t they amazing? OMG. Each one is like a little work of art.

Such a fun night. Thank you so much Benefit for making this all happen! You ladies who are looking for a fun party for your ‘maids (or even just your friends!), Benefit would be such a fun spot. Kami says it’s all about texture this summer. She’s super into the new Bumble Texture Hair(un) Dressing Creme. We’re most definitely sold!

Here’s how Kami created these pretty looks:

“Prep-products : Bumble & Bumble Texture cream in damp hair
(how to use and apply this product see: http://kamiwithak.com/love-the-new-bb-texture-cream)
Once dry to prep curls used Bumble & Bumble Spray De Mode hair spray.
Then curled with a 1 inch curling Iron. Some curling inside the curling iron, and some around the barrel, to make a looser wave.

Once hair is curled, there are so many possibilities. I love the hair on top of the head, whether it is a top messy bun or just pined up on top. top buns put together with natural curl in the hair, it is a perfect look this summer. I also love braids, but braids in different places. Think outside the box with your braids. Curled hair, and a random braid, equals cute every time!

For little hair accessories, these can be completely do it yourself. I made all those hair pieces from finding beads at Micheal’s and glueing them on hair pins. Cheap, easy, and really add another element to a hair style! the gold bow, i also found at Michaels and made it a hair bow by glueing on a clip. That easy!”

And for make-up… look out Sephora… we’re all headed your way!

“This summer is all about dewy shimmery make-up! Use gold eye shadow on the eyes, and shimmery cheeks.

On their cheeks I used Moon Glow Golden Bronzer with Twice Blushed Cheek Color Kit, by Jane Iredale layered on top of the bronzer. For the eyes try long wear cream shadow by bobby brown as a base. My favorite color is sandy gold. Then for the perfect gold shadow use goldmine by mac.

We cant forget my obsession with bright color lips this season! lip colors of choice, Good To Go and Perpetual Flame, long lasting lip colors by Mac. Also, try out Lip Fixation Devotion Lip Stain by Jane Iradale. These are bright, shocking lip colors but very long lasting. long lasting lips are essential for your wedding day.

Let’s start with general tips:

1) Don’t overdo it! Choose one feature to highlight and play everything else down.
2) Keep it simple so touch ups are easy
3) Touch ups should always take off any makeup that has fallen or smudged, with a sponge – you should never have to add anything except for maybe a tiny bit of translucent powder and lipstick/gloss. If you keep this in mind – you will never have to worry about anything caking on the skin.

And then the fun part… choosing your look:

Boho Chic

* Perfect for the bohemian bride
* Parting hair in the middle and keeping the hair piece-y gives a 70′s vibe. We softly twisted it up in the back and added a real flower for some added color and flair.
* Using greens on her eye brought in earthy tones and a touch of gold kept everything warm
* Played her lips down with a nude hue
* Apricot cream blush to keep cheeks flushed enough for a smokey eye but natural looking

Classic

* Perfect for the sophisticated and elegant bride.
* This look shows off the shoulders, while softly framing the face. But it’s still a bit more structured than a more relaxed look.
* Red lips pop and give a bold angle.
* The eyes stay soft and shimmery with a nude hue
* Depending on the shade of red on the lips, eye liner can vary. For example, we used a blue-red on her lips so we chose a deep eggplant color to line her eyes.
* And of course lots of lashes and mascara!

Natural/Romantic

* Perfect for the bride who never wears anything but chapstick and is comfortable with hair softly flowing!
* Keep hair looking bridal chic with big curls that frame the face gently. This hairstyle keeps everything very feminine and romantic.
* Evening out the skin tone is essential for this look
* The perfect foundation is key and while most people buy one color foundation, instead it is best to choose two. Our complexion is never just one color. By putting a light foundation on the areas where your skin is more fair, and a slightly deeper foundation where you are naturally darker, you keep a very natural look. (Editor’s note: Who knew?!?)
* Bronzer mixed with a little apricot or pink toned blush gives warmth and a sun kissed look without globbing on layers of foundation
* Light colored eye shadow with a little shimmer gives a touch of glamour to a natural look
* Liner is essential, and using a brown shadow liner keeps it soft

Face Time Beauty is available for weddings, events, makeup classes and photoshoots in New York, Palm Beach, and around the world.

But wedding hair isn’t complete with a little piece of decoration, preferably of the petal-y persuasion, right? We thought we’d show you a bunch of different flowers that would look pretty in your hair and a few of the hair styles we mentioned with said flowers in place.

Be sure to pick a flower that will stay pretty without water for a few hours. And/or bring a second bloom for later in the party.

Gardenias (a la Billie Holiday) are always delicious-smelling and pretty, though we couldn’t get our hands on one to photograph. Or a tiny spidery air plant, like Alyson rocked at her wedding. What about a big peony poof or a wintery camellia? Nothing says romance like the smell of jasmine on a spring evening. So many options!

We tested a few styles out ourselves over the weekend. Srsly, with a little practice, you could nail this!

Amanda is wearing three twisted buns with a trio of sweet ranunculus and a camellia.

Kristina is wearing half-up Heidi braids with a pretty pink flower whose name we don’t know (there wasn’t a tag at the farmer’s market, sorry!).

So here’s the plan:

1. Choose a super cute hair style from Joanna’s series, Who What Wear Daily, or any place else.
2. PRACTICE!
3. Give yourself plenty of time to get it right on the day of the wedding (even better, enlist a friend who has a way with hair to help). And to finish, pin a little spray of pretty, fragrant flowers in your ‘do.
