We don’t get to share enough bachelorette parties around here – which is a total shame because it is absolutely one of the most fun parts of getting married! This beachy bach party, shot by the lovely duo at The Why We Love, has all the right ingredients for the perfect ‘last single night out’ – a DIY tent with lots of tasty treats, yummy drinks sipped out of pretty paper straws, sand beneath your feet, waves crashing nearby, and most important of all – your very best girls.

This particular beach bash took place at Leo Carillo State Park in sunny Malibu, CA, but this would totally work at any waterfront location… even lake or river-side!

Can’t forget the pretty posies, fresh fruit, and classy cocktails… that extraordinary flower arrangement is the masterpiece of Julianne DaSilva – isn’t it seriously divine?

Few things in life are as enjoyable as frolicking carelessly on the beach with your girlfriends.

Best way to end a bachelorette party by the sea? A late-night grill & gab session.

This totally wins for cutest bach party ever.

East Side Bride is back. Yay! We’ve missed her.

Doesn’t it seem like bachelorette party planning is something that gets sorely neglected on the blogs? Clearly ESB has some fun ideas on how to do it right. The pink eye makeup is a must.

Dear ESB,

My best girl is getting married in December and I want to throw her a bachelorette like none other. I’ve only ever been to one bachelorette so I don’t have much to go on from first-hand experience, but I want it to feel just as fun and original as she is. I feel like you’re into the gist of what I’m going for – I liked the sound of your gold heels, pink ‘buy me a shot’ tee, and yeah, we’re definitely skipping the peen paraphernalia. My friend is a wild child, big fan of Lady Gaga, and an intelligent little feminista. I want to have some surprises and fun activities worked into the night and I would l o v e to hear any ideas that pop into your stylish, bold, & badass head.

*****

1. Invite all the bridesmaids, obv, and anyone else the bride wants to add to the list. Don’t be afraid to include a rogue friend-of-a-friend who is known to be fun and a little bit crazy.

2. Reserve a hotel suite somewhere cheap(ish) but cool like The Standard or The Ace.

3. Gaga it up with a record player and some scented candles while you hang out and do each other’s makeup. For the bride: pink eyeshadow + fake lashes. A lightning bolt if she’s feeling it. (Here’s a how-to.)

4. Have an early drink somewhere scene-y to get in the mood. Practice flirting with the bartenders.

5. Eat dinner. We don’t want the bride barfing later when she does too many shots on an empty stomach.

6. Suit er up with a pink feather boa and a gigantic flashing diamond ring.

7. Outside the next bar, arrange for a couple of adorable young actor/musicians with a guitar and a ukelele to serenade the bride. Perhaps with an acoustic version of a Lady Gaga song? Followed by a romantic old favorite that may or may not make her melt into a puddle on the sidewalk.

8. Have some drinks. Pecker Party Straws are FUNNY! but optional. (These Bachelorette Party Truth or Dare Cards are pretty funny too.)

9. Hit another bar. Are you picking up on the theme here? I’m certainly not endorsing wild, out-of-control, binge drinking, but I do think it’s important for this wild child to have a last hurrah. If she struts around a bar in a pink boa, men will buy her drinks. And she’ll remember that there are other men in the world. And then she’ll realize (all over again) that her man is the man she wants to be with.

10. Hide some good snacks in your luggage. You’ll thank yourself at the end of the night.

Jillian rode down to Philly yesterday with some other pretty bloggers to see the sneak peek of Anthro’s new wedding line, BHLDN (pronounced ‘beholden’, which means ‘to keep’ in Dutch).

Want to see? It’s super cute. And the dresses, shoes, hair pieces, lingerie, stationery, etc will be available for purchase through their website this Valentine’s Day! We’re in total anticipation of their retail store opening in the South, sometime this spring.

Eeeee! Nice way to start the morning, right? Surely there will be lots more of this in the next month! The dresses range in price from $1000-4000 and have free return shipping, so you can make sure to get your most perfect dress.

Which one is your favorite?

So, we know that most bridal showers aren’t this well thought out and coordinated and styled and everything, so don’t compare yours to this one! But we still thought you all would like to see it, because it’s reeeeeally good. Samantha and Whitney of Gus & Ruby Letterpress headed up the styling and did all the pretty paper details, with Jenna’s scrumptious calligraphy.

The concept was that like a good marriage, Lauren (the bride and Samantha’s close friend) is both sweet and spicy. The food, decor, and paper details all followed the theme and it turned out so cute! They even asked guests to wear either sweet pink or spicy red. Talk about going all out!

Last weekend Jillian and Jenna, along with Blossom & Branch did the most spectacular collaboration for their booth at the “Here Comes the Brooklyn Bride” BAM event. Together they created a unique tablescape to reflect their business offerings within the industry. Since they only had one table they decided to make the most of their ideas by splitting it in half and designed a vintage concept on one side and a modern concept on the other.

The vintage concept had a Marie Antoinette feel, dripping with shimmery gold and accented with blush pinks and turquoise. (ooooo!) Jenna created the fantastic “Just Married” sign above, bursting out of a horn with gold glitter. (ahhhhh!)

Blossom & Branch created a beautiful arrangement in a vintage vase with gold glitter spirals. And, yes you’re seeing Hostess snowballs over there…while they may or may not be the most appetizing they sure make a statement within this tablescape. We’re dying over those scroll escort cards with gold glitter edge.

A few other touches worth mentioning were this gold sparkled paper instead of a fabric runner. It’s such an affordable way to create ambiance if you don’t want to do a custom runner. Also, Jillian choose to use paper napkins printed with dainty cake illustrations…a perfect tie-back to their Marie Antoinette theme.

For the Modern look they went with a Kate Spade meets Brooklyn feel. If you haven’t seen pics of the Kate Spade flagship store in NY lately, the whole thing is decorated in a wondrous tape installation by Rebecca Ward. Clearly the perfect inspiration for the table! The use of ribbon is such a stunning and inexpensive way to add oodles of flair to a plain white tablecloth.

To add humor Jillian & Jenna created these playful silhouetted escort cards that have different phrases in each thought bubble. And they thought, if you’re representing Brooklyn you gotta have some Brooklyn gum.

Blossom and Branch mimicked the modern theme with beautiful monochromatic arrangements. Check out those amazing pink pineapple flowers!

Lastly, they couldn’t resist using Italian Campari soda bottles with hot pink striped straws as a cute favor or drink idea. The tags say “xo Red Hook” and represent a neighborhood in Brooklyn.

Fantastic job ladies!
