If you haven’t noticed, we’ve been following our gal Cammy of Show Me Your Mumu through her wedding journey. It’s always fun to get a peek into another bride’s planning process, yeah? So far she’s taken us wedding dress shopping and to her colorful bridal shower. Now we’re onto this adventure in Colombia for her bachelorette party, planned by El Camino Travel. And guess what? To celebrate, SMYM is giving away coverups to outfit your girls! Don’t forget to enter, after perusing all Taylor Cole‘s photos, of course.

After traveling from LA, they first arrived at a 17th century colonial house in the center of the old city (previously home to Jose Fernandez de Madrid, Colombia’s poetic ruler in 1816). They walked to local fave Maria Restaurant for a delicious dinner by international chef Alejandro Ramirez.

They also went on a street food tour of the city, and then were treated by a private Salsa dance lesson, where they also learned the local dance, Champeta. So fun!

Day 3 was a very special day where we headed to the coast to meet with the women of Madres-Cabeza de Familia y sus Cocos (Women, family patriarch and their coconuts) an association founded in 2008 originally of 7 women that produce jewelry, silverware, containers, vases, belts and accessories. The Damartes (Damas de Arte = Women of Art) are all mothers working to manufacture great things out of simple means. They were an inspiring group of women and the afternoon we shared with them was a wonderful opportunity to help support their business and learn about something most tourists would not get a chance to see. ShowMeYourMumu will sell their products on our website, with 100% of the proceeds going back to the Damas de Arte.

Then they headed to El Totumo, a volcano 30 minutes outside of Cartagena. This is the local healing mud bath, and after soaking they were guided by local women into the water to wash off the mud.

On our beach day, we traveled about 50 minutes off the Colombian coast to Islas de Rosario—one of the many islands off the coast of Colombia. Here we sampled the local drink, Limonada de Coco, and had grilled lobster on the beach. It was a wonderful relaxing way to end the beautiful trip.
