Modern desert wedding at the Ace Hotel

Quick tip: If you’re going to be married in the desert, you probably want a photog who knows a bit about the heat. Jasmine + the team at Let’s Frolic Together pulled off all the editorial wedding shots Jessica + Augis wanted and you’d never know it was 100+ degrees at the Ace Hotel Palm Springs whilst they romped around in black tie, sequins, and long sleeve lace. Love your style guys!

Jessica’s mom wore a long sleeve wedding dress that she’d tried on every summer growing up. She had to get her hands on a long sleeve dress herself and Houghton NYC dress was it!

We both grew up Catholic and it was important for us to have a traditional full Catholic ceremony in front all our family and friends. The Church had beautiful architecture and our priest had a great sense of humor. The Ace Hotel was the perfect place for us to have our reception. While we wanted a traditional ceremony, it was important for the reception to feel more like a party and give our guests something to talk about. The Ace offers vintage decor, non-traditional rooms, incredible food and relaxing atmosphere for all to have fun. The outdoor/indoor venue glass room was anything but your stuffy boring ballroom. We enjoyed entertaining our loved ones with fried chicken, French macaroons, a cigar bar and even late night tacos. The hotel even surprised us by flying in bottles our favorite red wine Quarry Butte from Alexandria Nicole winery in Washington to serve during our reception.

Parting words from our bride… Our biggest tip is to trust your instincts. We had initially booked a wedding venue and from the moment we booked it, I couldn’t sleep and I knew it was a mistake. We canceled the venue just two days after booking it. My husband and I were starting to become stressed and overwhelmed with having to start over but Courtney of After The Engagement came to the rescue and was extremely positive and quickly helped us secure the Ace hotel. She knew the place would be the perfect fit for us. Once the venue was booked, everything else seemed to fall into place.

Congrats A + J!
