Lush & organic central coast wedding: Kristin + Nick

July 16, 2015

It’s always good when there’s at least one no-brainer decision in the wedding planning process. For this bride + groom, it was tying the knot on California’s central coast. (Not hard to see why, right?) It’s where they met 5 years ago and where he proposed in 2014. With that for an instant decision, Kristin got to planning the flowers + food, while Nick focused on design deets (he is a designer at Dropbox after all). Teamwork = key. Thanks to Kelsey Stewart for sharing these images:

Srsly, this bouquet. So dreamy.

How sweet is this?! Guests tossed loose lavender in the air as K + N walked by.

Nick and I decided to do a wine box ceremony instead of reading vows. We placed our favorite bottle of wine in a box along with love letters to each other. On our first anniversary, we will drink the wine and read the letters. Every year will we add a new bottle of wine and write new letters. This tradition will create a lasting document of our relationship that we can share with our children and grandchildren. During the sunset, we snuck away with our photographer into the hills surrounding the venue. The grass was tall and made that enchanting ‘swooshing’ sound as the breeze gently blew through it. Nick and I could hear our guests partying in the distance.

We took advantage of the amazing agriculture by sourcing the food and wine locally. Pacific Harvest Catering made a delicious meal that guests are still raving about. We also decided to take an untraditional route with the dessert because neither of us love cake. We had a local sheep’s milk ice cream producer (and Cal Poly alumni) make three custom flavors. They served our guests from their adorable truck!

Parting words from our bride… The best decision I made was working with Danae and her team at Danae Grace Events. Although I knew what I wanted my wedding to look like, there were so many small details and logistics that she guided me through. At one point, I had forgotten to rent NINE TABLES! If it wasn’t for her, I don’t know what would I would have done. I recommend working with a month of planner at least. They will help you put things in perspective and allow you to focus on the details that really matter.

Congrats!
