Happy Wednesday, cakies! We can’t think of a better hump day pick-me-up than sharing this super fun bridal shower thrown for Kelly Lanza, the genius behind one of our fave DIY blogs, Studio DIY. Of course, being such a crafty lady, Kelly always appreciates a good theme. So her bridesmaids, the gals at Bellwether Events went a little citrus crazy for Kelly, and packed a ton of sweet details in, too… See them all in the photos by You Look Lovely:
Kelly tells it, The girls found a-to-die for restaurant, ICI Restaurant in Brooklyn, that was a beautifully lit blank slate and perfect for all the pops of color they brought in for the décor. They created that honeycomb runner themselves, my aunt put together the lemon drop favors and they had the most amazing paper goods from 9th Letter Press, one of my favorite stationery companies.
Each guest wrote a message on a balloon at the balloon bar, which will be blown up for Kelly to read while she gets ready on her big day. That’s pretty awesome, we think.
Anyone who knows Kelly is aware of her minor obsession with donuts! The team found a way to include them with these sweets from Doughnut Plant.
They designed a bingo based on the registry for guests to play while Kelly opened her gifts. They even found cute citrus stickers to include.
Jeff and I have been together for over seven years! Yes, we were high school sweethearts! We’ve been engaged for 10 months and the wedding (in Palm Springs!) is now just two months away! It will be pretty classic, romantic and colorful with all shades of pink, a boatload of flowers and some unexpected details, too. Despite being a DIY-er at heart, I always knew I didn’t want to DIY my wedding. I see this as the one time I can work with creatives I admire and I’m excited to let them do their awesome thing while I enjoy the day!
Some parting words from the bride-to-be: My best friend and Maid of Honor, Lauren, got engaged just four days before me. Having a friend go through this process at the same time as me has been one of my favorite things. I don’t know if either of us would have survived the rollercoaster of planning such big events without the other! Looking around the room, it was surreal seeing all the important women in my life at one table! From childhood friends to college roommates to family and future family, it was so special to have all the ladies I love in one place!
