NYC wedding at The Green Building

These two didn’t have to travel far to find the perfect NYC venue to say I Do. In fact, they wanted the entire day to feel very comfortable and at-home, from their church ceremony nearby to heading to the The Green Building to celebrate with 160 guests. Not only did the church ceremony feel like the perfect fit for them, the beautiful interiors totally went with the soft tones of the wedding design they wanted.

On the reception design, Jove explains, From the light-colored brick walls to the dark wood ceiling, it was a balance of masculine and feminine. Location also played a large role for them, having been Brooklynites, it was so great to be married near home! The fact that the Green Building had both indoor and outdoor spaces was also a major selling point as they envisioned an outdoor cocktail hour and a late night pizza truck and the garden of the space was perfect for that!

The couple had so many personal touches in the wedding, from the cake toppers which represented the bride’s mother’s heritage to the mini flags in some of the passed appetizers, which also were a nod to her family heritage. The groom’s mother came up with the idea to take family photos and blow them up on poster board and have them around the garden for cocktail hour; this was so fun for guests to see all the childhood photos and the relationship of the couple over the years. We created a gallery which guests could view while sipping on a signature cocktail and eating oysters!
