Modern wedding at an Art Gallery: Lindsay + Kyle

Happy first day of Spring, friends! Can you already tell how sweet our bride and groom are? Lindsay + Kyle wanted their wedding venue to represent three things: their love of art, their love of architecture, and their love of Charlotte, NC. LaCa Projects checked all the boxes, and from there they thought of every wedding detail as a little work of art in itself. Isn’t that so neat? Shout out to Sara Bee Photography for sending this one our way!

Lindsay studied architecture and Kyle studied Spanish so LaCa provided a perfect combination of our interests. The warehouse was this awesome industrial space and the gallery is dedicated to featuring contemporary Latin American art, so it was too good to be true! We loved the versatility of the venue. With such a stripped down space we could really turn the warehouse into whatever we wanted for the ceremony while keeping everything somewhat manageable for an easy flip to reception and all along having a naturally epic gallery for cocktail hour. Also, the gallery directors were incredibly accommodating and chill, always eager to help us do whatever necessary to make our wedding dreams come true.

Booking a talented photog that they felt completely comfortable with was a must for L +K. Sara captured their e-sesh in Charleston and the fact that she was open to all their ideas and wanted to completely capture their vision made made them so much more set on having her capture their wedding day too.

Lindsay designed and made all the rad laser cut signage throughout. She was also behind all the paper goods too. (No surprise she has the cutest Etsy shop, This Little Letter!)

We took about 16 months to plan, we wanted a longer engagement because we live in Boston and knew we’d be getting married in the Carolinas (where all our families live). Being so far removed from everything was probably the biggest hurdle, having to see the venue for the first time through FaceTime is not ideal and it wasn’t always easy to see the bigger picture from that distance. We’d say the biggest tip is just to utilize your resources. We cannot stress enough that there’s no way we could’ve gotten everything done without the constant help and support from our family and friends. From our mothers meeting with planners and gallery directors to our fathers making the altar and the ring box we were lucky enough to have an amazing team on our side.

So glad everything came together like it did, congrats guys!
