Tips for hosting a holiday brunch

If there’s one thing that can make brunch even better it’s—you guessed it—the holidays. Bubbly and a good meal followed by gift exchanges, all in a festive space? Uh huh. When planning this brunch, Jen at One Fine Day SF actually created her feminine pink color palette based on blogger Brittney of MissXBO‘s own love of pink + white. Thanks to Sunshine Shannon for the photos that go along with Jen’s holiday brunch tips!

Jen suggests landing on the color scheme first: It helps eliminate unnecessary distractions, especially during the holiday season when everything is gorgeous and gold and glittery. I focused on soft pinks, cool greenery and neutral tones to ground what could have been an over-the-top girly gathering and avoided traditional seasonal colors like red and forest green.

The bright white walls of their venue helped complement the light, airy holiday vibe.

Mixing metals is one of my favorite styling tricks. Rose gold stemware, gold flecked champagne coupes and gilded glassware added an understated sparkle to the table. The natural grass placemats were woven with gold, silver and bronze thread and helped anchor the wooden chargers against a pink tabletop setting.

One of the quickest ways to make a tablescape warm and inviting is to include place-cards with your guests names. I did a quick little DIY project to create the mini-wreath place-cards for each setting. I love this DIY project because it’s one that your guests can easily take home and incorporate into their own holiday decor as a reminder of your time spent together.

Another tip? Carry your theme throughout the entire event. Their champagne theme popped up again in their cute ornaments from Anthropologie.

There’s still time to whip up a brunch before the new year, you guys…
