Before we head into this first fall weekend, we’ve got a sweet video for ya that popped up in the 100LC inboxes a few days ago. Philadelphia-based pop musician Luke O’Brien proposed to his girlfriend of 12 years, Kathleen, with an original song back in 2016, and on their wedding day this past July they decided to film the official music video for it. With the help of videographer Danny Gevirtz, L + K ended up with a pretty memorable wedding film, as you’ll see. It may or may not have even started pouring rain at the *exact perfect moment* during the filming of their ceremony…
Luke’s story… Kathleen has always supported my artistic pursuit. She even steps in and becomes “DJ Leen” (my live DJ) when my band is unavailable. In keeping with that support, we both thought it would be such a cool and unique idea to turn our wedding ceremony into the music video for Old Love. The original plan was for the video to be a one take shot of all of our guests walking behind us as we paraded through the field with joy. We had everything in place; the song was cued up, the videographers were ready to go, and we made all 200 guests aware of what was about to happen.
However, at the exact moment that I kissed my new bride, the skies opened up and for the safety of our guests (and a lot of expensive camera equipment), everyone retreated to the barn to dry off and share a ton of laughs. It really set the tone for a beautiful, care-free night, and, we still managed to finish shooting the rest of the video later on. We absolutely cherish what came of it and we’re so happy to share our love and our joy with everyone who is watching. I also love the notion of being able to always look back on this video and use it to remind ourselves how much fun we have together and how happy we (and all of our friends and family) make each other, even when the storm comes!
