Romantic foraged foliage wedding ideas

We’re enamored with the concept behind this wild, floral inspired shoot Lynn Bagley documented, and are pretty sure you will be too (just look at this table!): It was inspired by a summer bride that wanted a soft + romantic wedding without neglecting her dark, ethereal style and love of all things vintage and antique. With that in mind, Morgan of Tulips & Toadstools + Kimberly Rose Floral Design teamed up to pull it off…

Not all summer brides want bright summer flowers or the traditional white and blush decor, so we got to have a little fun and went to the dark side creating this look for an upcoming wedding. Kim of Kimberly Rose Floral Design used her trademark mix of foraged foliage, combined with dark earth tones and finished the look with soft, subtle peach garden roses to keep things pretty and feminine. Ferns, pods and branches make the otherwise pretty arrangements look more interesting, keeping with the overall look.

The bride wore her grandmother’s 50s wedding dress and a headpiece made by Kim.

The team also added touches of dark foliage and flowers to keep with the bride’s edgy style.

Event Stylist Morgan of Tulips & Toadstools helped the bride create her moody and romantic look by using muted and dark tabletop accessories mixed with warm earth tones of the napkins and goblets. Lots of taper candles add a bit of romance to any tabletop. Gold calligraphy invitations, menus and escort cards finished the look. Adding textures and incorporating faux furs made things feel warm and relaxed. Gorgeous ornate early 20th century sterling silver flatware was purposely left unpolished to add to the antique feel of the shoot.

Did we mention that their bride made the cake below as a practice round for the big day, too? *Jaw drop.*

Brides, don’t be afraid to chat with your creative team about your personal style, even if it means thinking outside the box! Just look how it might turn out…
