Eeeeee, it’s officially March you guys. We. Just. Can’t. Wait. to host a few spring dinner parties of our own. When the temps finally catch up with our daydreams that is. This dinner party Lauren of Ryder Sloan Events + Mandolin Flowers teamed up to produce is basically inspo for spring gatherings, showers, and weddings all wrapped into one. Thanks to Michele Beckwith for sharing the photos!

Lauren of Ryder Sloan Events says, Amanda of Mandolin Flowers and I were inspired by the launch of a collaborative service we’re excited to share with our clients called Sobremesa Events.  The word “sobremesa” is a Spanish word which translates to, “the time spent together after the meal over the dinner table with the ones you enjoyed the meal with, laughing, talking, and digesting.” We felt this sentimental definition completely captured the feeling of the weddings we’d like to target with this new service. Evalyn Duke, a local designer and letterer created all of our paper pieces with a loose calligraphy style fitting for a casual intimate affair. She even painted the definition of Sobremesa for us on a beautiful linen to commemorate the launch of our new collaboration.

They started with a classic color palette of white + blue and brought in soft peaches and dusty beiges to add warmth and depth to the table.

Frances Lane’s gorgeous vintage collections always seem to find a place at my dinner tables and her white collection combined with brushed gold flatware paired effortlessly with the natural and beautiful wood table at Jax. A hand-dyed blue cheesecloth runner (thank you RIT Dye!) and a natural cheesecloth runner were the perfect soft elements to ground all of the decor on the dinner table.

Everything took place at JAX Tasting Room’s lush courtyard in the heart of San Francisco.

This new service is for couples that want to focus on creating personal, intimate weddings + events with smaller guest lists and more attention to design + collaboration. If that sounds like you, Lauren and Amanda are your girls!

Congrats on a beautiful launch!
