Bohemian Ace Hotel wedding: Sarah + Chad
Not gonna lie, after perusing these photos from Jenn Emerling of YEAH! weddings, we’re pretty excited for all the sunny, bohemian weddings to come. With a space like Ace Hotel Palm Springs and casual vibe in mind, there’s so so much you can do. Sarah + her mom took on the planning and design for her + Chad’s day, taking major advantage of the opportunity to DIY and create some srsly impressive décor pieces…
Love your style, Sarah!
Color palette: shades of terracotta, turquoise, gold, and white
Style: boho, southwestern, desert, laid back
After S + C had chosen the Ace as their venue, they spotted Jenn Emerling’s photography in Amy + Jason’s palm springs wedding. Sarah says, We first fell in love with Jenn’s work on 100 Layer Cake…. We chose her because of her way of telling a story. Her photos are vibrant in not only color, but real emotion. Secondly we really liked the fact that she had photographed at the Ace Hotel & Swim Club before, we felt she knew it better than us and that was a great thing to have in a photographer.
All this amaze décor? DIY! Sarah made 50 dreamcatchers, and her fam + friends made the macramé backdrop, the macramé with seating chart, 50+ dreamcatchers (!!!), material canopy over dance floor, dip-dyed yarn over the dance floor, cake table hanging, dip dyed yarn tassels, table runners and napkins, nakin rings from arrow charms and gold wire, macramé draping in front of the bar, chair signs, welcome bags, and table numbers. Kudos to Sarah’s mom who took on a huge amount of the projects!
Pretty fab home decor inspo too, don’t you think?

Their fave memories…
Chad: The entire experience was amazing and there are a hundred moments that stand out, but my most memorable by far was during the ceremony standing up front watching my family and favorite people in the world walk in, followed by the music changing to a beautiful rendition of How Long Will I Love You and watching the most beautiful bride in the entire world (my bride!) walk out.
Sarah: First one would have to be the vows. We both wrote our own vows and did not share them with one another until the ceremony. It truly was an incredible moment to confess our love and promises to each other in front of our closest friends and family. Second best moment was running through a tunnel of sparklers and jumping in the pool. It was magical and I’m not sure why I ever thought twice about it. I recommend it to anyone who has the opportunity!
