Backyard rustic bohemian wedding in British Columbia
How adorable are these two? When M + L were planning their backyard wedding, everyone told her that she was the least stressed out bride ever. (Which we can totally see in Christie Graham’s photos.) It helps that they both have a creative side—she’s an artist + vintage seller and he’s a carpenter—and besides, it makes sense to have a laidback approach to planning when the goal is a free-spirited, bohemian kinda day, yeah?
Super into this color story: ethereal greens, pastel hues, and pops of crimson.
M says, I had browsed Christie’s photography blog for years and just knew I had to have her photograph our special day. I love the way she captures light, dreamy moments. Such a wonderful talent that woman has! A true gift. She’s also totally cool and down to earth, and made everyone feel so comfortable.
What they loved about their wedding location… It’s home! Everyone felt comfortable and familiar—forest surrounding all sides. The day before the wedding I put on my gumboots and went out to the woods to harvest three truckloads of greenery for the canopy. Wild huckleberry, lavender, and beautiful green foliage. The day of the wedding, my bridesmaids helped me cover the metal bars of the canopy! My husband also built the bar area the week before, which was really special. I found a patch of wild baby’s breath and decorated around the bar and bar signs.

Wishing you the best!
