Beautiful Vermont wedding: Jenna + Evan

December 10, 2015
Lush floral ceremony arbor

This floral ceremony arch. Just when we thought we couldn’t be more impressed, we learned that Jenna’s mom (of Seagrass Floral Studio) whipped up all the florals for her + Evan’s big day. J + E had so many lovely personal touches like that throughout, from designing their invitations together to a row boat portrait sesh with John Andersen Photography at the venue. The photos couldn’t be sweeter.

Jenna’s a copywriter for natural beauty brand Follain and a former chef (she even designed the menu with Worthy Catering), and Evan is a business strategist + designer, and you can totally tell how that’s influenced their style. He designed the layout of their invites + she hand painted the watercolors.

My brother walked me down the aisle to the old Scottish song “Going Home” that was played on the bagpipes by the world’s most adorable bagpiper. Our late father was from Scotland and it was a small way for us to honor him during the ceremony. Our first dance was to Rod Stewart’s “Rhythm of my Heart.” It was fun and upbeat and is a classic song we both loved.

Jenna says, We were drawn to the European vibe of the estate but also loved that it felt secluded, given that it’s settled on 200 acres of private land. The beautiful grounds and the chirping frogs in the pond make the setting feel whimsical in a way that we loved. We also both grew up visiting that area of Vermont as kids so the location had special meaning to us.

Advice from our bride… Splurging on guest transportation is definitely something I would prioritize. Everyone has more fun when they don’t have to worry about how they’re getting home at the end of the night… Because the property was so secluded and difficult to access with larger busses, we had to book multiple small vans to transport our guest to the property. It was worth the trouble in the end because all of our guests had a safe and reliable ride back to their hotels.

Definitely worth noting! Congrats you two!
