Romantic Nashville winter wedding: Jana + Danny

November 9, 2015

It’s not every day you hear from a bride that planning her wedding was a breeze—but Danny + Jana swear by their photog Cassidy Carson + planner 12th Table. After finding them, things just worked out. The biggest thing was keeping the focus on the day’s true meaning and making sure their 250 friends and fam had the best day ever too. Do we need to mention that they succeeded? It’s obvious, right?

The Cordelle is one of a kind. You’re able to make that space your own or keep it simple and just the way it is—which is beautiful. Wooden floors, exposed brick, and open. It doesn’t hurt that when we met with the owners, they made us feel so comfortable with the decision. We were able to understand how special the venue and the process of creating it was to them. Those girls have a such special place in Nashville and they have been successful because they offer a space, not just for weddings, that is so unique.

We had our first look prior to the ceremony and the first thing I said before he turned around was, “Are you ALREADY crying?” We laughed, enjoyed the moment together, and finished our wedding party photos on the beautiful lawn at The Cordelle.

When Jana turned 29 she decided that she’d focus on herself, friends, and fam. Then she met Danny. When they ran into each other once more, she asked for his phone number. She tells it, I may have made the first move, but he reached out to me the next day to set up a date. Our first official date was downtown at Etch. To try to put our first date into words, really doesn’t do it justice. All I can say is it was a different… Different than any other date I’d been on. Constant conversation, laughs, butterflies, and the time drifted away from us until we realized it had been almost 4 hours.

We continued to date, learn about each other, go on trips, grow together, and eventually, decided to move in together. Danny purchased a home in April 2014. I decided I would break my rule of not moving in together until he had “put a ring on it.” After we closed on the house, we thought what better way to celebrate than with dinner before the craziness of moving started. After, Danny suggested we stop by the house. As we pulled up, I could feel something was planned. When we walked in, there were candles, flowers, and champagne to celebrate. Little did I know, he had asked my mom, sister, brother, and grandma to be there to watch him pop the question. It was such an emotional overload that I said yes, hugged and kissed him and the family and completely forgot to look at the ring!

Congratulations!
