Whimsical California wedding: Florence + Brian
Florence and Brian are so fun. Their wedding had a DIY flower crown booth. They designed neon fans in the shape of their beloved kitty. And they love spontaneous song and dance battles: They both belted out the lyrics to their aisle song, Drake’s “Hold On, We’re Going Home”, to ease Florence’s nerves. She says, I’m normally a very laid-back person and felt no pre-wedding jitters but when it came time to walk down the aisle, I was surprised to feel butterflies in my stomach! As I made my way down the stairs and saw Brian waiting for me at the end of the aisle, I was unexpectedly overcome with a wave of emotions. My natural reaction, which I will always remember, was to start belting out the song and even better to see Brian start singing too.
Thanks to Paige Jones for the photos!
Brian and I both grew up in California so when planning our wedding, we went for a “woodsy” California cool/bohemian style that was laid-back but still polished. We also didn’t want to have too many formal traditions just for the sake of doing them.
So cute!
F + B have loved Ojai ever since spending an anniversary weekend there, so when it came time to find a venue, Ojai was still on the mind. At Calliote Canyon, they could share such a meaningful location with 120 friends + fam, including a weekend of accommodations for the wedding party.
What New Years resolutions? Nothing like a cake from Sweet and Saucy Shop to give you a sweet tooth!
Florence says, We already loved Paige’s work and her photographic style before meeting her. Actually meeting her sealed the deal for us, as she is incredibly genuine and just the coolest person you will ever meet. Conversation was natural and we felt instantly comfortable with her. It was the best blind date I’ve ever been on!
Cheers!

what is the color of those bridesmaid dresses? is there a more formal name than "yellow"? do you happen to know where they're from!? thanks :-)

Hi Jane, The bride asked her bridesmaids to wear their choice of a mustard yellow dress. The designers worn are Urban Outfitters, BCBG, Robert Rodriguez, & Wink Couture from Etsy. Hope this helps!
