Sandwiched in between the holidays and Valentine’s day, January events can feel a little uninspired without a bit of creative thinking. But whether it’s a winter celebration or a laid back date night with your other half, a unique + well-crafted cocktail will definitely spice things up a bit! Portland-based Mint and Mirth has both of those down pat, (which we already knew from all the wedding cocktails they showed us here), and today they’re sharing how to make The Second Breakfast, alongside these photos by Celeste Noche Photography. Enjoy…

This nightcappy cocktail features English Breakfast tea syrup and flavors of lemon and lime. Best of all, it’s easy to prepare at home for one, two, or twenty, so it’s perfect for any winter soirée!

Second Breakfast

• 2 oz. “The Classic” tea syrup by Owl’s Brew
• 1 ½ oz. Burnside Double Barrel Bourbon from Eastside Distilling
• ¾ oz. fresh lemon juice
• 3-5 fresh mint leaves
• Ice
• Lemon peel for garnish

Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice, then strain into chilled coupe glass. Garnish with a twisted lemon peel, and enjoy!
