We know we’ve still got like 24 days left until it’s “official” (yeah, yeah, yeah…), but to us Memorial Day has always marked the start of summer. So to celebrate this three-day weekend and kick off the sunny season, we thought we’d share a summery cocktail-focused shoot from Marie Buck Photography, GATHER Events, and mixologists extraordinaire, The Whaling Club. Prepare yourself for nautical accents and a cocktail menu full of fresh ingredients like blood oranges, blackberries, pineapple, and mint. Bottoms up, everyone!

Dan from The Whaling Club says, The “Sinker” highlights one of my personal favorite combinations, Scotch and pineapple, while the “Bowline” uses Jamaican rum to add a subtle hint of The Islands to your classic rye Old Fashioned. Of course no whiskey bar would be complete without a sampling of America’s greatest offering, bourbon. Drink it neat or on a single hand-cut rock.
