Jessica + Thomas are a couple of Canadian lovebirds who chose to get married near Tom’s family’s summer house in Maine. Since almost all of their 190 guests were first-time visitors to the area, J + T wanted to provide them with a real taste of New England. They did that literally (guests dined on Maine lobster etouffee) and with a low-key nautical theme that carried throughout the whole wedding weekend (right down to Jessica’s striped J. Crew pumps you see above!). It’s seriously adorable, folks. We’re sure glad Emily Delamater sent these photos our way… Click here to jump on over to the full gallery of images. Jessica says, Tom proposed to me in the Protea Garden at Kirstenboch Botanical Gardens in South Africa. Protea are the national flower of South Africa and are so unique. I had a King and Queen protea in my bouquet and all the bridesmaids had pincushion proteas.  There were also Queen Anne’s lace, pale peach roses, lisianthus and fresh herbs. They smelled divine!

The groomsmen embraced the New England look with khakis, boat shoes and a gingham tie.

So many cute nautical details going on with this cake.

There were many special moments over the course of the evening but what stood out most was how musical the night became. The best men put together a rendition of Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble,” but customized the lyrics to say, “I knew you were meant to be together.” They had lyrics in sealed envelopes at everyone’s seats and the whole tent sang along—it was magic! A group of friends also did a choreographed sing-a-long and dance to “With a Little Help From My Friends” by the Beatles. Just when I thought it couldn’t get better, my new husband got behind the band’s keyboard after our first dance to sing custom lyrics to the Plain White T’s “Hey There Delilah” (“Hey There Jess”).  Just when our guests had probably had enough of the amateur music hour, I got up to sing Bill Wither’s “Lean On Me” to Tom. I had been rehearsing with the band and it was the most nervous I have been in ages! Bob Charest band literally had the crowd (old and young alike) dancing until we were kicked out of the venue.
