Anthropologie inspired floral shoot

September 15, 2012

In case you didn’t know, our very own Miss Amanda is getting married today! Yep, she’s trading in her Miss for a Mrs., and we’re in such a good mood because of it that we thought we’d give you a little something extra to keep the pretty going over the weekend. Leave it to la bohème and Shawna Yamamoto Event Design to bring us another fabulous shoot filled with tons of color and fresh new ways at looking at how to have fun with makeup, jewelry, patterns, flowers, ghost chairs, and butterflies.

In this shoot, we wanted to show how you could take a fashion image that you were attracted to and turn it into event decor… this shoot from Anthropologie caught our eye right away! Instead of just saying “Hey, we could wear that outfit”, we immediately thought “Hey, that shoot would make for amazing wedding decor”. We took the stunning backdrop of this image then recreated and turned it into a backdrop for the tablescape & ceremony. You’ll see the floral pattern reflected in the table linen cap, polka dots in the layered runner, the gold jewelry in the gold flatware, and the bright, fun flowers all over – and of course, butterflies seemed like a natural addition.

And some really great advice from Hallie of la bohème that we totally agree with:

Brides should feel the creative freedom to find their wedding inspiration in other avenues besides images from other weddings. Think outside of the box! Check out fashion magazines, trendy store windows, home decorating blogs and more to see if you can pull unique ideas, color palettes and textures that you wouldn’t normally think of! Essentially, a gorgeous event has all of the same elements as a fabulous outfit, or a pristinely decorated home. Let your imagination run wild!
