A Disneyland engagement sesh: Alexandria + Johnny

Categories   Engagements

If you’ve ever been to Disneyland and taken yourself out of the Mickey Mouse of it all, you’ll notice the creative details that go into the meticulous environments that make it the happiest place on earth. The¬†art directors have mastered the visitors experience – the use of space, colors, hand-painted typography, and architecture makes every Land in Disneyland feel like you’re walking through a romantic and nostalgic movie set. And that’s exactly why and how Alexandria + Johnny wanted Connie Lyu to photograph their e-sesh, by shooting in a way that one wouldn’t be able to tell right away it was a theme park and instead, capture its unique and festive¬†atmosphere.

These photos are beautiful - and not cheesy in the least! (you'd worry Disney could come off cheesy, but these are perfectly whimsical and yet classic.) More importantly though, I'd like to know where this beautiful woman's beautiful dress came from. Gorgeous!

Julia: the dress is from Anthropologie but I don't think they stock it anymore! it's a Girls from Savoy dress.

Where's Johnny's face? The photographer was really creative with props, but I think the most important element (the couple) was lost.

Connie Lyu on Mar 21, 2012

@michelle: to be honest, there are a lot more that capture the couple, but the couple specifically requested not to have his face shown for personal reasons.

I'm impressed, I have to admit. Rarely do I encounter a blog that's both educative and interesting, and without a doubt, you've hit the nail on the head. The problem is an issue that too few men and women are speaking intelligently about. I'm very happy that I came across this in my hunt for something concerning this.
