11 Sep

Because today is a difficult day for so many people in our country, including many of you, we’d like to share a photo and a few words of reflection in collaboration with a handful of other bloggers.

remembering 911

If you were there that day, if you lived in New York (or DC or Boston) 10 years ago, if you knew someone who worked in the Twin Towers or the Pentagon, or was a rescue worker who rushed to the scene, or happened to be on a flight from Boston to LA that day, or was involved in one of the countless and equally tragic ways, today is especially hard. It must have felt like the world was crumbling around you that day.

We can’t truly begin to understand the significance that early September brings each year, because we weren’t there. But we, like so many many of you, still feel the heartbreak that befell not only the people who lost their lives, but especially the families who were forever changed one Tuesday fall morning. To those families, know that the hearts of this country are with you today. And while it’s not much, we hope that this small offering of remembrance does in some way contribute to a greater feeling of memorial on this 10 year anniversary.
