Bright 60s inspired bridal shower

May 29, 2012

Welcome back from the long weekend, Cakelets! To ease you into the week we’re kicking things off with a bridal shower (congrats if you celebrated yours this weekend) designed by Rebekah, best friend to the bride, and designer from A & B Creative. Fun little side note and prelude to the pretty details you’ll see below: the shower was held at the bride-to-be, Johnelle’s home – who also happens to be an amazing interior designer and owner of one of our fav vintage furniture shops, Mignonne. She’s also a Francophile with a penchant for delicious eats and decor. Pretty paper, outfits, dinnerware, and treats, oui oui!

The beautiful Johnelle donning a vintage striped dress we’re betting is from France!

We’ll take a martini, or two, in one of these lovelies.

Sometimes celebrating in the comfort of your home with a handful of your gals is the way to go. Cheers!

Her matron of honor, Alice Qualls designed all of the paper goods, and yes that dessert is making our mouths water too.

From Rebekah: I wanted this shower to really stand out as one for the type of woman who is more inclined towards fine wine and food than competing for the best toilet paper wedding gown. Instead of games we bonded over amazing food, the Mancha martini, an olive tasting and a charcuterie station true to her French foodie leanings. We even had local absinthe for each of the ladies to take home! We knew Delbarr would be the perfect photographer to capture our bridal party bonding time. Not only is her work stellar and perfectly fitting with our style, but she has the amazing ability to be “one of the girls” and a fly on the wall all at the same time. We all left the shower knowing each other a little more, bonding over our full bellies and all of the hilarious stories we could think of to tell about Johnelle, donning our pretty Hook & Matter earrings (that were a gift from Johnelle), and being even more excited for her big day!
